Untangled
Untangled is a prototype created for the Brackeys Jam in 2024 by Shadow64 and Elise in the Clouds.
Please play with Sound On, if you can, as the music is vital to the experience of the game.
The game is a series of chats with the main character's friends about a failing relationship between them and their partner Ash. Through these conversations you may discover some details about the falling out, but overall it's the process that is important.
TW: This game touches on breakups and loss. If these concepts upset you, this may not be the game for you right now.

I know I'm kinda late but finally had time to play it. I liked it. The music, the emotions, it is well done. I was surprised by how toxic a few conversations ended up but the last one was just really sweet.
I kinda felt bad going against every emotion/character, most just went clearly overboard with their thing but I did have to retry >>><<< because without context they just seemed reasonable, like I just wanted to stay friends or something with ash
I think that's a good thing :)
Thanks for playing!
Totally get it. I think many people get tripped up by that section and, based on the reality of the situation, I think that is valid and is where a lot of people would get tripped up in real life too.
The key to that section is to really examine what you're agreeing to. You haven't just agreed to stay friends with Ash and there are other ways this is being described that may clue you in to the kind of experience that will be and why that really isn't the solution or the best way to look at it.
That said, note taken and should we choose to expand on this at some point, we'll incorporate this feedback as well as tone down some of the others. Thank you again for playing and the notes! Super helpful!
Beautiful text based game. I went through all the emotions, fascinated by the sound effects and music, immediately and effectively ticked off and sad and lonely and in the end, connected.
I thought I responded to this before! I'm so sorry. Thank you for playing and thank you so much for everything you've told me about this. I appreciate it.
this was amazing!!! thank you so much for sharing it on Threads. what a delight to play! bravo to Shadow64 and Elise in the Clouds.
phewww their friends are are so toxic! ahaha
Hahahaha! They certainly have their feelings about things. The important part is getting through them and untangling. And you did it! Yessssss!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!
i just finished it. crying screaming throwing up. this is amazing, the music made me cry, the story made me cry, the relatability made me cry. this better win the game ja
Wow! This is a very kind comment. We're still waiting to see how it does in the jam, but this is extremely generous of you. I'm glad it had such a profound affect. That's great!
If you are interested in the music, please look up Élise in the Clouds. She is the composer and she's absolutely fantastic. She has a lot of great work, but I personally recommend her album "Patterns" and the song "L'Envol."
Thank you for playing!
will do ❤️

Thank you again. I would love to see what you come up with and your take on it. Please come back and post when you're done.
